Observations

Ive been a foreman for the last 6 years of my 11 years in the trade, you know how many times people come to my jobsite not thinking I’m the one in charge? Reason’s because I look young for my age, and because I’m not white. I’m not offended, it’s just a fact. Doesn’t effect my pay check who thinks what about me, and I don’t blame them or think it’s their fault, it’s the result of social conditioning. Soon as you put a guy older than me (or that at least looks older) or just a regular white guy (so happens my crew are Mexicans and Filipinos) on my crew, 9 out of 10 times people come to my site thinking they’re the boss, just the way it is.
